International Commercial Arbitration: Resources in Print and Electronic Format This
website was complied by Lyonette Louis-Jacques, Foreign and
International Law Librarian and Lecturer in Law at the D'Angelo Law
Library, University of Chicago Law School. It is a fantastic
resource with a considerable number of international commercial
arbitration references and links. Unfortunately the site does not
appear to have been updated since 15 October 2003.
International Commercial Arbitration: Locating the Resources This
is another website with a multitude of arbitration references and
links. It was compiled by Jean M. Wenger, the Government
Documents/Foreign & International Law Librarian at the Cook County
Law Library. It appears to be current to 24 May 2004.
Lex Mercatoria.org This site claims to have been on of the very first law sites on the web. "It
is dedicated to the provision of information on international
commercial law with subsidiary interests in commerce and (mostly open
standard) Net and information technologies that may be of interest to
law academics and professionals worldwide."
Guide to International and Foreign Legal Resources - Rutgers School of Law This
site contains lots of links to online international law resources
generally. It has specifical sections on international commercial law
(including arbitration) and research guides.

Law and Practice of International Commercial Arbitration. (A. Redfern, M. Hunter, N. Blackaby, C. Partasides) A
seminal text in the field of international arbitration and cited
regularly in memorandums. The 4th Edition was also available in a
soft cover student
edition format. It had the same substantive commentary
but did not include the appendixes - and it was considerably cheaper!
Comparative International Commercial Arbitration (J. Lew, L. Mistelis, S. Kröll) This
book prvoides a very comprehensive and in depth coverage of
international commercial arbitration. It is also regularly cited
in memorandums.
Fouchard, Gaillard, Goldman on International Commercial Arbitration (P. Fouchard, B. Goldman, J. Savage and E. Gaillard) This book is a seminal text in the field of international arbitration. It has a civil law focus.
International Chamber of Commerce Arbitration (W. L. Craig, W. W. Park and J. Paulsson)
Craig Park and Paulsson is a very often cited text on ICC arbitration in particular, but international arbitration generally.
A Practical Guide to International Commercial Arbitration (R. Garnett, H. Gabriel, J. Waincymer, J. Epstein) This relatively short book is a good entry level text. Improving the efficiency of arbitration agreements and awards : 40 years of application of the New York Convention. (A. J. van den Berg) van den Berg is one of the world's leading authorities on the
enforcement of arbitral awards. Understanding the differences
between instruments like the New York Convention and the UNCITRAL Model
law on International Arbitration can often generate innovative
arguments.
The Art of Advocacy in International Arbitration (R. D. Bishop - Editor) This
book provides a country by country analysis of advocacy in
international arbitration. Arbitrators from different
jurisidictions have different expectations and approaches. It can
be very useful have an appreciation of these before arriving at the
competition.

text provides a very useful examination of how the UNCITRAL Model Law
on International Commercial Arbitration has been interpreted by common
law courts.
The UNCITRAL framework for arbitration in contemporary perspective (I. I. Dore) UNCITRAL
has had a significant influence on international arbitration and as
such this book does provide insights into the field.
International Arbitration Rules : A Comparative Guide (B. Wheeler) Comparative
works are always useful. Examining the differences between rules
can often be a persuasive technique to explain your argument.
